Google ran a series of special holiday logos or “Google Doodles” for the year 2016. These Google Doodles were inspired by papercraft models and cutouts. The most amazing thing about them was, you could actually print them out to make your own models! ‘Tis The Season! For Google Doodles that are inspired by papercraft models and cutouts.
Google Doodler Robinson Wood produced new Doodle everyday. Robinson Wood stated that to make the holiday season bright getting together with friends and family is one of the best part. So, the Doodle team wanted to honor as many different traditions, peoples, and celebrations as possible by bringing out these papercraft models and cutouts through their Doodle. They All were linked to a search for “Tis the season!” when you clicked on them.
The logo for 25th December was live only in those countries where Christmas was actually celebrated. Google has also been in the holiday spirit beyond logos with holiday-themed decorations for searches on Hanukkah, Christmas and Kwanzaa searches.
Google also created an automated Dreidel game, this dreidel game was a digital version of the Hanukkah spinning toy which was posted at the top of results for “Play Dreidel” searches during the holiday season. Not only this Google even ran its traditional Santa tracker, as is NORAD. Here are some of the best Doodles that celebrated science, technology and culture in 2016.
