RMG is an ecommerce design, development and digital marketing agency headquartered in New York. Since 2013 we have built, replatformed and scaled online stores for direct-to-consumer and B2B brands, working across Shopify and Shopify Plus, Adobe Commerce, BigCommerce, Salesforce Commerce Cloud and Shopware.
Design. User-centered interface and storefront design built around conversion rather than decoration — information architecture, product discovery, cart and checkout experience, and design systems that a client's own team can extend.
Development. Frontend and platform engineering on modern stacks, including headless and Next.js storefronts, theme and app development, accessibility audits and remediation, site speed and Core Web Vitals work, and integrations across ERP, PIM, OMS and NetSuite. We handle migrations between platforms with the data and SEO continuity that usually gets lost.
Digital marketing. Ecommerce and Shopify SEO, AI search and generative engine optimization, conversion rate optimization, paid media, and email and SMS lifecycle programs built in Klaviyo.
We serve B2B and wholesale, manufacturing and industrial, fashion and apparel, beauty, outdoor and sporting goods, and food and beverage brands, and we are comfortable with large catalogs, complex pricing and heavy backend integration.
RMG is a Shopify Select Partner, an Adobe Silver Solution Partner, a Google Partner and a Klaviyo Silver Master Partner. Recent work includes storefronts for The Noco Company, Crispi USA, Granado, Evelyn & Arthur, Hanky Panky, Olukai and Rickshaw Bagworks.
We do not require long-term contracts. Brands that need a single task rather than an agency relationship can use RMG On-Demand: fixed-fee, pay-as-you-go work for Shopify and Shopify Plus stores at $175 an hour with a two-hour minimum, quoted up front and delivered by the same team.
HiVis Supply's Google, Microsoft, and Facebook Ads were underperforming, held back by campaign structures and targeting that needed refinement. The brand also had relevant audience segments it wasn't yet reaching, and it needed clear, data-driven insight into performance to make informed decisions about its advertising.
RMG optimized HiVis Supply's Google and Microsoft Ads with targeted keywords and more efficient account structures. On Facebook, the team improved audience segmentation and ran creative testing focused on high-intent users. To diversify reach, RMG launched cost-effective acquisition and retargeting campaigns on Reddit. Throughout the engagement, RMG provided transparent reporting and agile management so HiVis Supply always had a clear view of performance.
Comparing the year before RMG management with the first year of RMG management (2022 to 2023), HiVis Supply saw strong growth across the board:
Evelyn & Arthur's in-store customers expected the same curated, personal experience online, but the existing ecommerce site felt generic and didn't reflect the boutique's character. With collections from dozens of designers plus accessories, gifts, and seasonal lines, shoppers struggled to browse the catalog and find new arrivals that suited their style. The warmth, styling expertise, and sense of community that define the physical stores weren't coming through digitally.
RMG moved Evelyn & Arthur to Shopify Plus, carrying over the full product catalog and preserving existing search rankings throughout the migration. The team redesigned the storefront to capture the boutique's personality and rebuilt collection discovery so customers could browse designers, categories, and new arrivals as easily as they would in store.
The new storefront gave Evelyn & Arthur a digital boutique that reflects the in-store experience and drives measurable growth:
The online store couldn't reproduce what made Charming Charlie's stores special. Browsing by color across product families required a completely new data architecture. Loyalty points, rewards, and gift cards earned in store weren't connected to the website, so customers had to manage separate accounts and lost benefits when shopping across channels. Behind the scenes, product content was managed in spreadsheets with no central system, and inventory between stores and the website was out of sync, which caused out-of-stock listings and fulfillment problems.
RMG built a new Magento 2 platform around the shop-by-color experience, with sitewide color filters that link products across categories by shade. The team connected in-store and online loyalty, rewards, and gift card programs into one experience, synced physical store inventory with online points of sale, and set up centralized content management to replace the spreadsheet workflow.
Charming Charlie's online store now reflects its award-winning in-store concept, with a unified omnichannel experience for customers and streamlined operations for the team:
Anova's site ran on Drupal with a tightly coupled frontend, which limited performance and design flexibility and fell short of the experience its premium products called for. Separate catalogs and content libraries for Anova.com and Upbeat.com meant duplicated work, inconsistent product data, and slow launches of new products across both brands. With hundreds of configurable options across materials, colors, and components, customers also had no way to see their customized furnishings before ordering, which created uncertainty and lengthened sales cycles.
RMG decoupled the frontend from Drupal and built a new React progressive web app, then migrated the product catalog to Magento 2. A unified multi-store setup now powers both Anova.com and Upbeat.com from a single platform, so the team manages products and content in one place. RMG also built a real-time product customizer that uses image layering, so customers can see their chosen materials, colors, and components as they configure each piece.
Anova now has a fast, modern platform that matches the quality of its products, simplifies operations across two brands, and gives buyers confidence in their custom orders:
Rickshaw's existing online store felt generic and didn't reflect the brand's handcrafted identity or the fun of designing a custom bag. With hundreds of fabric combinations, colorways, and personalization options, the customization process was overwhelming and gave customers no visual feedback, which led to abandoned carts. The site also failed to tell the story of Rickshaw's local manufacturing, sustainable materials, and San Francisco craftsmanship, which weakened its position against mass-produced competitors.
RMG redesigned and rebuilt the Rickshaw Bagworks site from the ground up on Adobe Commerce with a mobile-first approach. The team created an intuitive bag configurator that guides customers through fabrics, colors, and personalization options step by step, and integrated manufacturing data directly into the order flow so every custom order moves smoothly from checkout to production. The new design also highlights the brand's craftsmanship and local roots throughout the shopping experience.
The new site turns custom bag design into an easy, engaging experience that showcases Rickshaw's handcrafted quality and drives growth:
As NCG expanded its inventory and configuration options, its ecommerce platform couldn't keep up with the growing complexity of component bundles, compatibility rules, and allowed combinations. Credit applications and lease approvals were separate from account creation, so gamers had to get through a fragmented process before they could start building a system. The desktop-first site also performed poorly on mobile, where more and more customers were browsing and configuring PCs, which led to high bounce rates and lost sales.
RMG built a new Magento 2 platform hosted on AWS, centered on an intuitive PC configurator that handles component compatibility and bundle rules. The team combined credit approval with account creation so customers can get approved and start building in one smooth step. RMG also developed a custom modal cart, delivered a mobile-first design, and provides ongoing SEO optimization to bring more gamers to the site.
The new platform makes it easier for gamers to configure, finance, and buy their dream machines, while keeping the transparent pricing NCG's customers count on:
Despite five decades of Italian craftsmanship, CRISPI's website didn't connect with North American hunters and lacked the rugged, performance-focused identity U.S. and Canadian outdoorsmen expect. With hunting, hiking, and work boot lines for both men and women, customers had trouble finding the right boot for their terrain and activity, whether a spring turkey hunt or an alpine elk hunt. Standout technologies like GORE-TEX® linings, Vibram® outsoles, and CRISPI's proprietary A.B.S.S. ankle support system were buried in dense product pages, so shoppers couldn't easily see what set the boots apart.
RMG moved Crispi USA to Adobe Commerce while keeping its NetSuite ERP and dealer integrations fully intact, so both direct and dealer operations continued without disruption. The team redesigned the storefront around the North American hunter, pairing CRISPI's Italian heritage with a rugged, performance-driven look. The new experience makes it easier to find the right boot by activity and terrain and presents key technical features in a clear, easy-to-understand way.
The new site connects CRISPI's Italian craftsmanship with North American hunters and makes the business more efficient for both consumers and dealers:
Granado's website didn't reflect more than 150 years of heritage and craftsmanship. It felt generic and did little to tell the story of Brazil's oldest pharmacy. Most of the site's traffic came from mobile devices, but the layout wasn't optimized for them, which led to high bounce rates and low conversion, especially in the fragrance and skincare categories. With hundreds of products across fragrances, body care, and home scents, navigation was also unintuitive, and customers struggled to explore collections and find what they needed.
RMG completely redesigned and rebuilt Granado's Adobe Commerce storefront in six weeks. The new design puts the brand's Brazilian apothecary heritage front and center, with a mobile-first layout built for how most customers shop. The team also reorganized product discovery across fragrances, body care, and home scents, so shoppers can easily browse collections and find the right products.
Granado's new storefront now matches the quality of its products and delivers a much stronger mobile shopping experience:
Hanky Panky's Magento 1 platform had performance bottlenecks and security concerns that kept the brand from delivering the fast, modern shopping experience its customers expected. Customers could personalize products, such as adding gemstone lettering, across a large catalog, but the platform offered no intuitive way to customize items or preview them in real time. Loyalty rewards (Panky Points), product recommendations, and checkout also worked as separate experiences, which created friction and led to abandoned carts.
RMG migrated Hanky Panky from Magento 1 to Magento 2 and built a headless storefront using progressive web app (PWA) technology for a fast, app-like experience on every device. The team added real-time product personalization with live previews, integrated the Panky Points loyalty program directly into the shopping journey, and streamlined the purchase process with a one-step checkout.
Hanky Panky now has a fast, secure, and modern platform with a seamless shopping experience that keeps customers coming back:
LobsterGram's Magento 1 store couldn't keep up with modern shopper expectations. Its dated design didn't convey the premium quality of the products and felt impersonal, which clashed with the brand's reputation for excellent customer service. The catalog covers lobster, seafood, steaks, appetizers, desserts, and curated gift packages, but clunky navigation, limited filtering, and hard-to-find seasonal promotions made products difficult to discover. For a brand built on gifting, from corporate gifts to holiday celebrations, the checkout also wasn't designed for gift orders. Scheduling deliveries, adding personal messages, and shipping to multiple addresses created friction and led to abandoned carts.
RMG replatformed LobsterGram from Magento 1 to Magento 2, migrating all existing product data and content, and rebuilt the frontend with RMG's Next.js Storefront. Content was converted to Magento Page Builder, so LobsterGram's team can keep using the familiar drag-and-drop editor while their changes appear on a fast, React-based frontend that performs well on any browser or device. The team optimized images, streamlined the mega menu, and added add-to-cart buttons directly on product images to cut load times and clicks throughout the customer journey. The storefront also supports configurable, grouped, and bundled products, so shoppers can build custom lobster and steak holiday dinners. It manages cart dependencies automatically, such as removing add-on items when the related main item is removed, and supports gifting and scheduled-delivery orders.
LobsterGram now has a modern, high-performance gifting platform that matches the premium quality of its products and makes ordering easy:
Despite more than a century of innovation, NOCO's website didn't reflect the premium quality and advanced technology of its products or offer the modern, high-performance experience shoppers expect. The catalog spans several product families, including Boost jump starters, Genius chargers, lithium batteries, and air compressors, each with many models and specifications, so customers had trouble finding the right product for their needs. Key innovations like UltraSafe technology, spark-proof connections, and advanced lithium engineering were buried in dense product listings, which made it hard for buyers to see what set NOCO apart from competitors.
RMG rebuilt NOCO's Adobe Commerce platform with a focus on product discovery, making it easier for customers to navigate the product families and find the right model for their vehicle or application. After launch, RMG became NOCO's long-term managed services partner, providing ongoing development, support, and optimization and delivering new features every quarter to keep the site improving.
The rebuilt platform brings NOCO's legacy of innovation online, and the ongoing partnership continues to drive measurable growth:
OluKai's brand is rooted in tradition, but its customers expect a modern, streamlined shopping experience. The aging Magento 1 store couldn't keep up with a mobile-first customer base, and performance issues and limited flexibility were holding back online growth. OluKai's customers are always on the go and needed a fast, seamless mobile experience from their first visit through checkout, which the old platform couldn't provide. The store also didn't reflect the premium, adventurous identity customers associate with the brand, so the digital experience fell short of the OluKai story.
RMG upgraded OluKai from Magento 1 to Magento 2 while preserving the store's core functionality. After the migration, the team re-integrated OluKai's backend systems to keep customer, product, order, and shipping data accurate, built a new gift card system, and added fit guidance on product pages to help shoppers choose the right size. To match the brand's spirit of adventure, RMG also created custom content and promotions with striking visuals and motion graphics.
With a fast, reliable shopping experience and engaging brand content, OluKai now connects customers to both its footwear and its story:
Crispi had built its business selling boots through retailers and its own site, but had never really invested in digital marketing. The brand needed to break into the digital space and expand its customer base. Before ads launched in April 2024, total site revenue was trending down for January through March compared to the same period in 2023.
RMG launched Google Ads and Meta Ads to get Crispi in front of the right people and increase boot sales. Working with a small starting monthly budget, the team split spend 70/30 between Google and Facebook. On Google, RMG launched a few standard search campaigns alongside PMAX, keeping branded spend light to stay focused on new customers. On Facebook, the team researched and built highly relevant custom audiences and provided guidance on creative to test across them.
Once ads launched in April 2024, total site revenue began to climb, and RMG kept pushing through the rest of the year:
Evelyn & Arthur, a regional retailer, was ready to grow its online performance but needed to revitalize its online presence and drive more profitable growth. Its existing advertising across Google, Microsoft, and Facebook needed restructuring to improve targeting and messaging and to take advantage of AI-forward campaign types. The brand also had untapped potential to expand its reach into new, relevant markets.
RMG audited and rebuilt E&A's Google and Microsoft Ads with improved targeting, compelling ad copy, and optimized campaign structures. On Facebook, the team refined audience segmentation, tested diverse creative formats, and launched objective-based campaigns. To reach niche audience groups in new markets, RMG introduced StackAdapt and launched targeted Display campaigns.
Comparing performance before and after the campaign restructure (2023 to 2024), E&A's online growth accelerated:
PIXI Beauty needed a smarter way to reach its existing customers based on where each one was in the customer lifecycle. Its creative also needed to align with specific customer segments to stay relevant, so that every impression could have the greatest possible impact.
Taking a data-first approach, RMG analyzed PIXI's creatives and audiences, then segmented customers by shopping behavior, separating VIP customers and big-ticket spenders from discount shoppers and low-activity customers. The team set up precise campaigns and audiences based on this segmentation and aligned creative to each group. The segmentation also helped PIXI find new potential customers.
After three months of running these campaigns, PIXI saw gains in both overall and creative performance:
Proven Winners Direct was new to SEO and hadn't explored organic search before partnering with RMG. The brand needed to streamline and optimize its online experience, using the four pillars of search engine optimization to identify where the site needed improvements to raise its organic search rank.
RMG ran a full site audit that highlighted quick-win opportunities in mobile speed performance and content organization. Looking at the customer journey through the lens of Proven Winners' best customers, RMG identified the need to shift from a "shop all" layout to dedicated product categories and landing pages. The team then planned the best content for every level of the product hierarchy and optimized it for organic rankings and click-through rates. In addition to optimizing titles and descriptions, RMG optimized more than 2,000 image tags to improve organic rankings and image search visibility.
These strategic changes turned organic search into a major revenue driver for Proven Winners Direct:
