I have collaborated with Gary Steel on several marketing projects at Catholic University since 2015. He stands apart from other marketing firms in that he truly works in total service to the customer. Gary guided me, and others on my team, to refine the message and brand we wanted to convey to our audience of perspective non-traditional adult students. In this crowded field, Gary found ways to make our brand stand out and increase various program inquiries by over 50% in 2016. Gary was the lead player in helping us recover from a massive IT failure last Spring when we lost all functionality of our CRM platform overnight. All systems had to be rebuilt and then later reintegrated with a new website. Gary worked tirelessly with me and our IT team to restore the interim system, and our outage only lasted 12 hours. Once the new system was rebuilt on the new website, it turned out to be better than the previous one - thanks to Gary. In addition, Gary took the time to explain to me all the nuts and bolts of not only how digital marketing works (or doesn’t!), but also how to really interpret analytics to reveal the efficacy of individual campaigns. He kept a close eye on all campaigns, and if one was not performing as well as expected, he immediately notified me to reallocate spending. Gary also prepared me for all my marketing presentations, so I could speak with informed authority in meetings with the Dean and Program Managers.
